Pics from the hospital

In front of the HSC in Toronto on a random hearing test visit

We arrived early and decided to snap some pics

Befor Al's MRI and CT scan in the waiting room

He did great with the sedation and afterwards and was happy as always

Alex and I being silly in the hotel room the night befor his CI surgery

3:45am wake up call so Al could breastfeed since he would have to fast from 4am

Even though we are all tired Al does not seem bothered by the wake-up call

Wish the pics were in order...Third day in the hospital and ready to leave

After surgery

Al was throwing up liquids and blood because of the anesthesia, he was very sleepy

We were so thankful his head did not need to be shaved that much

Alex was runing a fever, we tried to keep him cool without catching drafts

The ear bandages were so big because the blood and liquid was draining from a tube into the gauze

Al's crib for the next two nights and three days

How mommy and daddy and slept (half on the day bed half on the chair for two nights)

We were thankful they let us both stay with Al

In the playroom with Alex since he was awake for more then 5 minutes

The next morning, the bandages came off and his appetite was back to normal

Top of his head is really swollen at this point

Incision covered with tape

The outer incision was an inch long

Dr. Papsin the autolaryngologist was the best

Bed-head

For a stroll, the IV was still in his hand but pinched off

We thought they had trimmed his bangs because they were so short, but it turns out
it was his head that was so much bigger that his bangs were pushed up

Alex loved watching the elevators in the Atrium lobby

Recovery in ward 5A was the best

View of how swollen the sides of his head were

We always knew his cheeks were chubby but we were not used to this lol

Daddy playing with Alex

Looking at that weird reflection lol

He must not recognize himself

Dinner time, great meals for Al on the Meal Train

Pureed carrots and speghetti and meatballs

Last fever spike at 8pm on the second day, we get news that they want to keep
him for 24 more hours to monitor his fever

Personnality is back to normal but physically weak

Next morning, fever has not spiked all night and we are in a great mood

Alex pulled so hard to get the block off he wacked me in the eye lol

Daddy feeding me lunch

We were relieved to see him making silly faces again

This is his new silly face, it's so ugly that it's cute lol

We are ready to leave and were finally sent home at 4pm on the third day! Rush hour traffic coming home was not fun but well worth it!
